. . . and your preseason favorite is Virginia. The Cavaliers have some holes to fill this spring, but who doesn't, right?

The top ten looks like this:

1. Virginia
2. Duke
3. Cornell
4. Johns Hopkins
5. Denver
6. North Carolina
7. Syracuse
8. Maryland
9. Notre Dame
10. Villanova

This is now where we turn it over to you to lose your mind in the comments, blathering on and on about how Inside Lacrosse hates your favorite team because they're ranked, like, infinity spots too low.

Good job on the blog. I don’t generally read blogs written by people who don’t get paid to do this but your stuff is as good or better as IL’s and unlike their website which is disorganized and slow, your stuff is easy to get to.

I am a Hopkins fan and frankly think that we have the most at stake this year. The program has been at best inconsistent and more or less stunk since Harrison left. We have a lot of guys coming back this year-Boland seems like he’s been playing for us since the War of 1812-and with the new lacrosse center being finished and the rise of new programs like Michigan and Denver plus cuse heading to a powerhouse ACC, we need to win a title this year to reaffirm our place in the game. We’re due.

All the lumps that Hopkins took in the past, breaking in all that youth on defense . . .

I’m willing to bet that it starts to pay off huge this year. Not to mention Ranagan and Boland and Palmer returning.

This is the team that should have the early buzz. Petro has so much available to him this year that they’re my early favorite.

Lets not forget

John Greeley on that midfield and Pierce Bassett in goal. Huge return for Petro.

So many options for his bad haircut this year.

Yeah I was gonna say

The only two problems I have, as I said on a side post on Nunes, is that UNC seems a little low at 6 with all that offensive firepower they’ve got (though I can’t really go against Denver and Hopkins being ahead of them) and that Cornell seems to be a better fit for #2 than Duke. Other than that it looks pretty good for a preseason poll
