As the 2011 NCAA lacrosse season gets underway for many programs this week, I just wanted to get some of you all caught up on some of the stories around the lacrosse world the past few weeks. Check out all the links for some good lacrosse coverage.

Marquette recently named ex-Maryland coach Dave Cottle as their consultant for their new lacrosse program... Mike Miller of the Baltimore Sun had the story and word has it Cottle may also be the newly hired president of the MLL's Chesapeake Bayhawks organization
Ex-Virginia midfielder George Hugely facing five additional charges
Danielle Bernstein of Inside Lacrosse had a good chat with former Maryland attackman Will Yeatman. The two chatted about Yeatman's transfer from Notre Dame, reason's why he isnt playing lacrosse this season and his aspirations for a pick in the NFL draft.
Hobart men's lacrosse program was penalized for major violations they committed in 2006. All their wins from the season, including their win against in state rival Syracuse, were taken away.
Dave Rhame of the Post-Standard in Syracuse does a great job covering the Orange. Here is a quick post he did on his Orange Lacrosse Blog where he reports that the UVa/Syracuse game was changed from a Sunday to a Friday showdown and will be aired on ESPN U. If both teams stay unbeaten until the matchup it will be a showdown of 1 vs 2 in the country and no doubt Syracuse and the Carrier Dome will try to set some sort of attendance record. Last time they played in the dome there were nearly 20,000 people inside to watch the great game.
