GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, College Crosse Nation! Thanks for making us a part of your day! Here’s everything you need to know for March 9, 2020.

College Crosse News

Only one game today, as Cleveland St. takes on Mercer in a neutral site match-up at 3:00 PM (ET) this afternoon. I could not find a link for a stream for the game, but you can find the Live Stats for today’s contest here. Mercer’s star attackman Sean Goldsmith has been sensation this year. The Bears sophomore leads the country in goals per game, is sixth in the country in points per game, and he’s a big reason why Mercer is off to a 5-1 start.

You can find all of the box scores and highlights from this weekend here in our Weekend Scorecard for Week 5. For your convenience, you can find the table with team links, box scores, & recaps directly below.

From PSU’s Daily Collegian: No. 2 Penn State men’s lacrosse’s miraculous comeback spoiled by two late goals.

Penn State didn’t make it easy on itself. The Nittany Lions battled in a game of runs for the second weekend in a row. It worked against Penn. It didn’t work against Cornell.

KOAA 5 did a segment on Air Force’s win over Canisius.

From The Cornell Daily Sun: Marine sniper turned Cornell men’s lacrosse faceoff specialist, Hunter Hughes, recounts journey.

Today, Hunter Hughes is a senior faceoff specialist for No. 7 men’s lacrosse — but not too long ago, he was a sniper in the United States Marine Corps. The 29-year-old, who walked onto the men’s lacrosse team his junior year, faced a long journey before he found himself taking face-offs for the Red.

From the Hofstra Chronicle: Hofstra comeback falls just short against Ohio State.

Even with seven different players scoring, including three in double digits, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team came up just short in their loss #18 Ohio State Buckeyes (OSU) on Saturday March 7 at Ohio Stadium.

12 WPRI did a segment on Brown’s big upset over Virginia yesterday.

As we’ve done before with Rita’s water ice flavors and Herr’s potato chips, we are ranking Wawa hoagies. As a public service, of course. And also because we just like picking fights over stuff. So here we go …

Talk about turning water into wine: A malfunction causes red wine to flow from faucets in an Italian town.

Who wouldn’t love it if red wine started flowing from their kitchen sink? For a few hours Wednesday, residents of the northern Italian town of Castelvetro realized they could have their Lambrusco not just from bottles — but also from their faucets and shower heads.
