The Mercer Bears are now 4-1 on the season thanks to a 17-8 win over St. Bonaventure yesterday. Star attackman Sean Goldsmith finished the game with 7 goals to tie the SoCon record for most goals in a game. Here is the box score of the game and here is the Mercer recap.

Robert Morris won a tough contest on the road at Detroit Mercy yesterday 16-13. The Colonials extended their win streak to two games and now are 3-2 on the season. Here is the box score of the game and here is the Robert Morris recap.

From the Boston Globe: Bill Belichick to receive key to city of Annapolis at Navy-Johns Hopkins lacrosse game.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick will receive the key to his hometown in a special ceremony next weekend. Belichick will become the first recipient of the key to the city of Annapolis, the place where he grew up and first fell in love with football and lacrosse.

UVA lacrosse team raises $30K for cancer research.

The University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team has raised $30,000 and counting in less than three days for cancer research – and all it took was a pair of clippers. On Tuesday afternoon, 30 players showed up to practice with freshly buzzed noggins, part of a fundraiser started by the Brown University team, whom UVA plays on Sunday afternoon.

Oh boy: Young Harris College cancels remainder of 2020 men’s lacrosse season.

Young Harris College has announced that they have canceled the remainder of the season for their men’s lacrosse team. In a statement released on Wednesday, the Young Harris’ president, Dr. Drew Van Horn, said the school had recruited Jay Goldsmith to take over the program for this season.

The LA Times with a piece on the upcoming Yale vs. Michigan game this weekend at the Pacific Coast Shootout.

“We are extremely excited to have another great matchup for this year’s Shootout,” said Pacific Coast Shootout executive director G.W. Mix, who is also the boys’ lacrosse coach at Corona del Mar High, in a release. “Yale has been one of the top teams in the country for a number of years and it is an honor to have them agree to join us.”
