Ryan, me, & a special guest taped our newest CROSSECAST on Saturday night.

We’re halfway through a busy weekend on the NCAA Lacrosse calendar, and we’ve got plenty to talk about given the results. We knew the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse season’s already gone off the rails, but this week put the men’s game into a flux as well. The top 10’s not going to look anything like it did last week, and you’ll need some help guiding you through what happened. Have no fear, we’ve got a COLLEGE CROSSECAST episode here.

From the Daily Collegian: Penn State men’s lacrosse shouldn’t agonize over close loss to Yale.

Penn State may have had it rough this weekend, but it’s still in prime position to finish the season ahead of its competition. In just Penn State’s fourth game of the regular season, Yale came into Happy Valley and handed Penn State its first loss since the 2019 Final Four when the Nittany Lions lost to — you guessed it — the Bulldogs.

Utah got the bounce back win they were looking for on Saturday thanks to an explosive second half.

The University of Utah men’s lacrosse team returned to their winning ways this weekend as they defeated Furman University by a score of 17-9 in Rice-Eccles Stadium Saturday afternoon. This was the second home win for the Utes, and they improve their record on the season to two wins and two losses.

Tough, but fair.

From Syracuse.com: Syracuse lacrosse midfield answers challenge vs. Army - “We had to make it happen.”

The Syracuse lacrosse midfield’s reputation as elite is one that’s deserved, but it still didn’t get Army coach Joe Alberici to back off from a challenge on Sunday. Like most opposing coaches, Alberici didn’t have a lot of great choices when it came to defending the Orange.

From the Daily Pennsylvanian: No. 8 Penn men’s lacrosse defeats No. 10 Duke in neutral-site showdown.

Penn men’s lacrosse entered this season with high hopes and big expectations, and on Saturday, the Quakers were able to show that they can be a serious contender this season. After a tough season-opening loss to Maryland, No. 8 Penn made the trip to Charlotte, N.C. to face No. 10 Duke, defeating them by a score of 14-11.

Hiram love the kids!

What’s Up, New PhilaJersey?

Sir McCartney must’ve wanted some good pizza: Paul McCartney snaps photos in Metuchen, NJ.

Leo Aponte, who has lived in Metuchen for 15 years, said he’s never seen someone as famous as McCartney milling about the town. When asked if he was a Beatles fan, Aponte laughed and said, “Who isn’t!”

World/National News

Blessed: California couple in their 70s found alive after disappearing on Valentine’s Day hike.

The rescue of a married couple in their 70s who had been lost in the woods for more than a week is being hailed as a miracle by authorities in Northern California, who had given up hope of finding them alive.
