GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, College Crosse Nation! Thanks for making us a part of your day! Here’s everything you need to know for September 12, 2019.
College Crosse News
WE DID IT!: Utah unveils new home for lacrosse team (and also soccer).
Fully remodeled and views for days. This may sound like an advertisement for a newly built home, and in many ways, that is what we’re talking about. The new home of both University of Utah Soccer and Lacrosse. Ute Field finished construction in August, located just east of the Student Life Center. The old field was simply not enough for a high-level university in a power conference facing elite competition.
Be on the look out this morning as Denver will be releasing their 2020 schedule some time today.

Now do the same @Other74D1MLaxTeams.
Heartwarming story on the Bernhardt family from US Lacrosse Magazine.
Jesse and Jake Bernhardt are the sons of a coach — and a good one at that. Jim Bernhardt drilled in his three sons (including the youngest, Jared) the work ethic it would take to be successful. Whatever they chose to play, the Bernhardt brothers were destined to have a career in sports. All thanks to a father that was tough when he needed to be, but compassionate just the same. “He just had a great perspective on things,” Jake said. “Whether it was lacrosse or football, he was a coach first.”
BACK TO WORK!
A $20 million lacrosse stadium is the next step for Ohio State University’s growing athletics district on west campus. The men’s and women’s teams are responsible for raising the full construction costs. The athletics department has not yet responded to requests for the amounts raised to date. Trustees last month approved $2.3 million of the total for design.
Rest in peace: Yesterday teams throughout the country honored former players, loved ones and first responders who died during the attacks on September 11th.

Syracuse adds former midfielder Sydney Pirreca as assistant coach.
Fresh off appearing on 2019’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List for the Florida Gators, Sydney Pirreca will transition into coaching after being named an assistant coach for Syracuse women’s lacrosse. The move comes after Regy Thorpe announced he was leaving the Orange after last season to coach and manage New York’s NLL team.

Blessed: This N.J. amusement park was just named “Park of the Year.”
Morey’s Piers in the Wildwoods was recently named “2019 Park of the Year” by Amusement Today magazine. With 61 rides and two beachfront water parks across three piers, Morey’s Piers is a main attraction for those visiting this South Jersey shore resort island.
World/National News
Jennifer Lopez might be adding another accomplishment to her ever-growing list very soon. The singer and movie star is reportedly in talks to be the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show performer. While representatives for Lopez and the NFL did not respond to EW’s requests for comment, multiple outlets are reporting that the Hustlers star is close to a deal locking her in as the headlining act for next year’s big game in Miami.
