U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen announced the passage of a Senate Resolution they authorized to celebrate the accomplishments of the University of Maryland Women’s lacrosse team, which recently won its 14th National NCAA Championship.
Wagner named Marc Zolchonock as its newest men’s lacrosse assistant coach.
Wagner College head men’s lacrosse coach Bill McCutcheon has announced the hiring of Marc Zolchonock as an assistant coach with the Seahawks. Zolchonock arrives on Grymes Hill following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Monmouth University. In the first of his two seasons with the Hawks in 2018, Zolchonock worked on the same staff as McCutcheon, a former longtime MU assistant who recently completed his first year at the helm of the Wagner program.
Danielle Spencer is the new women’s lacrosse head coach at Stanford.
Stanford Director of Athletics Bernard Muir announced the appointment of Danielle Spencer as head coach of Stanford women’s lacrosse on Wednesday.
Spencer, who served as an assistant at Stanford in 2012, returns to The Farm after she turned around the Dartmouth program in three years and earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in each of her final two seasons. Spencer inherited a program coming off three consecutive losing campaigns, but the Big Green won 11 games in her second year and captured an Ivy League regular season title in her third season.

James Perry had been Bryant University’s football coach for less than a month when his new players came to him with a combination of a request and a suggestion. There was a lacrosse player on campus -- possibly the best athlete at the school -- who expressed interest in playing football.

Abby Wambach visited the US Lacrosse headquarters to talk to the U.S. women’s national team.
The U.S. women’s national team arrived at US Lacrosse headquarters Tuesday morning and was immediately ushered to the Crum Conference Room in anticipation for a guest speaker. But it was no ordinary guest.
On the day that the U.S. women’s national soccer team kicks off its FIFA Women’s World Cup against Thailand, one of its greatest alums — Abby Wambach, the two-time Olympics gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup soccer star —was on hand to share her story with the U.S. women’s national lacrosse team.
Upstate Lacrosse Association celebrates 25th anniversary this weekend.
Scores of young lacrosse players will hit the fields in Auburn this weekend to take part in a celebration a quarter-century in the making. The Upstate Lacrosse Association’s 25th anniversary will kick off with games on Friday and Saturday in the highly-anticipated annual opening weekend. Since its inception during the mid-1990s, the ULA has grown from just eight teams, all the way up to 175 current squads.

A black bear was on the loose in Philly.
A black bear is on the loose in East Falls section of Philadelphia. The bear was initially spotted roaming the train tracks in the neighborhood on Wednesday morning. Chopper 3 was over the train tracks just west of the East Falls SEPTA Station around 11:20 a.m. when they spotted the bear.

I’ve never read the Harry Potter books, but this “Dobby” thing is crazy.
The mom whose security camera captured creepy footage of what appears to be Dobby the house elf from the “Harry Potter” series told Inside Edition she’s still freaked out by the video.
