Duke vs. High Point: Fresh off of coach Danowski’s 400th win over Furman this past weekend, Duke now takes on another regional team in High Point. The two teams have played five times previously, with Duke having won the previous five, by an average of 10 goals per game. Despite graduation losses and the untimely injury to Brad Smith, the Blue Devils looked good on offense versus Furman on Saturday, as Joe Robertson scored four goals and had one assist, while CJ Carpenter and Cameron Badour also chipped in with three goals each. Watch out for Duke’s face-off man, Brian Smyth, as he won 19-of-27 against the Paladins last weekend, which helped Duke to control the pace of much of the game.
High Point is coming off a strong performance against St. Bonaventure, as the Panthers blanked the Bonnies 13-0 last Saturday. Sophomore Asher Nolting had a big day last weekend, as he finished the game with seven total points (3 Gs, 4 As). Duke will have to take care and make sure that Nolting doesn’t go off again. The Blue Devils are favored to win this game, but they mustn’t take High Point fore-granted as the Panthers looked pretty good last weekend. I think High Point has a chance to keep this game close early on, but the Panthers will have to play their best game ever if they want to knock off Duke.

Salisbury men’s lacrosse fueled by movie theme in hunt for 13th national title.
The Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team appears to be a fan of the George Lucas “Star Wars” franchise.
Dubbed “The Empire” of Division III lacrosse, while also receiving a tweet from Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill prior to last year’s national championship, the Sea Gulls once again showed their fandom with the release of the 2019 season poster.
Titled “Gull Wars: The Empire Strikes Back,” the poster features several athletes stationed with their lacrosse sticks that have been designed to look like lightsabers – the well-known weapon of the Jedi and Sith.
But the “The Empire Strikes Back” message is the mindset Salisbury has on its road to the national championship.
