Georgetown University’s men’s lacrosse team released its 2020 schedule, as announced by Head Coach Kevin Warne on Wednesday. The Hoyas host a slate that features seven home games at Cooper Field and three contests against teams that made the 2019 NCAA Championships.

Two exhibition dates, home against local foe Maryland and against both Penn and Navy in Annapolis, Maryland, serve as the Blue & Gray’s final tune-ups before the season opener at Lafayette on February 8 in Easton, Pennsylvania. The opener is the first of two back-to-back road games to start the season as the Hoyas head up I-95 to take on defending America East champions UMBC in Catonsville, Maryland on February 15.

The Georgetown Hoyas are the 41st team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the fifth team from the Big East. Georgetown finished 13-5 overall in 2019 and 3-2 in Big East play. The Hoyas defeated Denver for their second consecutive Big East Championship but lost to Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Eric Wolf has announced the 2020 Long Island University men’s lacrosse schedule, a 14-game slate featuring six contests at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The 2020 schedule will pin LIU against eight Northeast Conference teams, and three teams from the Colonial Athletic Association, two from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association, and one from the Big East.

The LIU Sharks are the 42nd team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the fifth team from the NEC. LIU, previously known as LIU Post, was in Division II last season and finished 11-5 overall in 2019 and 5-1 in ECC play. The Sharks, previously known as the Pioneers, lost to Mercy in the ECC Championship game and did not qualify for the Division II NCAA Tournament.

Ryan McGorry recalled his first venture to the Cornfield Classic in Tully four years ago as a journey that for much of the time had the feel of a trip to nowhere. McGorry was then a freshman at St. Joseph’s in Buffalo, a budding high school lacrosse player who played on a team entered in the tournament.

Two female Life University lacrosse players were denied bail in their armed robbery case down in Atlanta.

After denying them bond, a Fulton County judge didn’t hold back as he scolded two players on Life University’s women’s lacrosse team who are accused of driving two masked men to an armed robbery in Atlanta last month.

Paws up: Lil Dub, internet famous cat from Jersey, passed away on Sunday.

When Lil Bub first came to Asbury Park in 2018, she arrived as a bona fide star. The cat, which had drawn millions of fans on Instagram, was a headliner at the Catsbury Park Cat Convention at Convention Hall, where Bub’s many admirers “awwww”ed and cooed over her, craning for photos of the diminutive feline, known for her tongue-out expression.
