STAND UP, NEW JERSEY!!: Rutgers’ 2020 schedule dropped yesterday.

No. 16 Rutgers men’s lacrosse today unveiled the schedule for the upcoming 2020 campaign. The Scarlet Knights will play a 14-game regular season slate, with seven home games at SHI Stadium and seven games on the road.

The season begins at home on February 1. The Scarlet Knights will face six teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season. The team will open the year with nine non-conference games.RU will host Quinnipiac, St. John’s, Stony Brook and Syracuse and travel to Army, Loyola, Princeton, Lafayette and Hofstra. The new additions to this year’s schedule that RU did not face last year include Quinnipiac and Stony Brook.

UNC Charlotte to add women’s lacrosse.

The UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees has reportedly approved a proposal to add women’s lacrosse to its portfolio of NCAA Division I sports, with the goal of competing as an affiliate member of the American Athletic Conference.

Patriot League announces 10 men’s lacrosse games televised on CBS Sports Network.

The Patriot League and CBS Sports Network announced its television schedule for the 2020 spring season, featuring 10 men’s lacrosse games, one women’s lacrosse game and one baseball game.

The semifinal and championship games of the 2020 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be televised by CBS Sports Network for the 12th-consecutive season. The semifinal round is set for Friday, May 1 with games at 5 and 8 p.m. The men’s championship game will be played on Sunday, May 3, at noon ET. The Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game will also be televised live by CBS Sports Network on Saturday, May 2.

Here is the press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Virginia with more details about the case.

A Florida man, who conspired with others in a failed attempt to kidnap five children and kill their parents, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg to a series of charges related to his conduct, United States Attorney Thomas T. Cullen and David W. Archey, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Richmond Division, announced today.

Frank Jesse Amnott, 31, pleaded guilty today to one count of conspiracy to commit the offense of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to kill witnesses, and one count of brandishing, carrying, and using a firearm in commission of a federal crime of violence. The crime of conspiracy to kill witnesses carries a statuary sentence of mandatory life in prison.
