The Terps released their 2020 schedule yesterday.
Head coach John Tillman has announced the University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team’s 2020 schedule ahead of the program’s 95th season today. This season’s non-conference schedule features marque matchups with defending National Champion Virginia, Final Four participant Penn and NCAA quarterfinalist Notre Dame – all of which will be played at Maryland Stadium.
”I’m incredibly excited to start our 2020 journey with this year’s team,” said Tillman. “Week in and week out, we will be challenged by some of the nation’s best teams, and our home schedule will provide exciting matchups for our passionate fanbase.”

The Penn Quakers are the 58th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the fifth team from the Ivy League. Penn finished 12-4 overall in 2019 and a perfect 6-0 in Ivy League play. The Quakers won the Ivy League Championship against Yale, but fell to the Bulldogs in overtime in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

The Hartford Hawks are the 59th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the sixth team from the America East. Hartford finished 4-11 overall in 2019 and 2-4 in America East play. The Hawks failed to qualify for the America East Tournament after losing to UMBC in a win-an-in scenario.
US Lacrosse Magazine named Grant Ament its 2020 Preseason Player of the Year.
Grant Ament, a redshirt senior attackman at Penn State and a 2019 Tewaaraton finalist who shattered the single-season NCAA assists mark last year, has been named the US Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Preseason Player of the Year.

High school lacrosse teams in Trussville are asking to use the school system’s football stadium, but they feel their requests are being met only with obstacles and concerns.

Former Navy lacrosse player Lindsay Rheiner qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials.
Former women’s lacrosse athlete Lindsay Rheiner Carrick (‘15) clocked a time of 2:43.43 in the Military World Games marathon in Wuhan, China to qualify for the Olympic Marathon Trials.
”I’m humbled and honored to have represented the Naval Academy on the lacrosse field and in the Marine Corps in various races,” Carrick said. “The prospect of competing for Team USA in any capacity is overwhelming.”
