College Crosse News
The Colgate Raiders are the 29th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the second team from the Patriot League. Colgate finished 4-9 overall in 2019 and 2-6 in Patriot League play. After an impressive start to their season, the Raiders declined and failed to qualify for the Patriot League Tournament.
The Hampton Pirates are the 28th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the third and final independent. Hampton finished 6-5 overall in 2019, their most wins in a season in program history, but went 0-3 against Division I opponents. The Pirates named Rashad Devoe their new head coach this summer and plan to play a full Division I schedule in 2021.
It’s about time! Hampton slow played its entry into D1 lax. But the potential they hold is still enormous. If Hampton finds success - it’s a Disney movie. It changes perceptions. It grows the game. It becomes a mainstream story. I’m rooting for @Hampton_MLAX to get there! https://t.co/3Uc0iHi0jH— Anish Shroff (@AnishESPN) November 14, 2019
