The Providence Friars released their 2020 schedule yesterday.

The Providence College men’s lacrosse team announced its 2020 schedule today (Nov. 11). The Friars open up the 2020 campaign with two road scrimmages. Providence will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, Jan. 18 to take on the Utes. The team’s second scrimmage will be in Amherst, Mass. on Saturday, Jan. 25 versus the UMass Minutemen.

The Providence Friars are the 24th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the third team from the Big East. Providence finished 7-9 overall in 2019 and 3-2 in Big East play. The Friars lost to Georgetown in the Big East semifinals after the Hoyas mounted a fourth quarter comeback.

The Bryant Bulldogs are the 23rd team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the third team from the NEC. Bryant finished 3-11 overall in 2019 and 1-5 in NEC play. The Bulldogs failed to qualify for the NEC Tournament and recorded their first sub-.500 season since 2015.

The lacrosse community came together on Veteran’s Day yesterday to honor all the great men and women who have served & sacrificed to protect our country.

Former UCLA club lacrosse player Scott Harris was hired as the general manager of the San Francisco Giants.

The San Francisco Giants have hired former Chicago Cubs assistant general manager Scott Harris as their new general manager ... A Redwood City native, Harris majored in international economics and played club lacrosse at UCLA, and saw the new wave of front offices emerge during his undergraduate years.

From US Lacrosse Magazine: Jared Bernhardt has unfinished work to do in lacrosse before he moves onto college football.

Jared Bernhardt continued the family tradition when he came to Maryland to play lacrosse, following older brothers Jake and Jesse. The story almost wrote itself, especially when Bernhardt helped the Terrapins win a national title as a freshman and then gradually blossomed into one of the top players in the country over the last two seasons.

Former Ohio State lacrosse player Ryan Brant was featured on a NBC Sports series on mental health.

When Ryan Brant was growing up, lacrosse was the sport he grew to love at the age of five. Originally an attacker, he transitioned to goalie after his older brothers strapped a baseball catcher’s chest protector to him. He played high school lacrosse at DeMatha, then committed to Ohio State.

Wild turkeys have declared war on a town in New Jersey.
