High Point named six players as captains for 2020.
High Point University men’s lacrosse head coach Jon Torpey named Ben Baker, Luke Cappetto, Sean Coughlin, Davis Sampere, Jake Schleppy, and Dalton Sulver as the team captains for the 2020 season. “We are thrilled to have these 6 young men leading our program. Coach Torpey said. “They embody everything we look for in an HPU lacrosse player and strive to develop during a student athlete’s 4 years here. All 6 have worked extremely hard in their time here to be in this position they have been nominated to fill.”
High Point also announced a schedule change for the Cornell game.

The NLL re-upped its deal with Under Armour.
The National Lacrosse League renewed its sponsorship deal with Team 22, the manufacturer of Under Armour lacrosse gear, for another three years as the league increasingly pairs with corporate partners to try to grow its revenues, and the sport, in the U.S.
It was great seeing the lacrosse community get into the Halloween spirit yesterday.

What’s Up, New PhilaJersey?
A big thank you from grateful parents of a little boy who’s in Philadelphia while being treated for a rare kind of cancer. Last month, Jack Callahan sent a letter to Gritty, saying his biggest birthday wish was to meet the Flyers’ mascot.

Spooky stuff: NASA telescope spots a “Cosmic Jack-O’Lantern.”
It’s Halloween, and your favorite space agency is certainly in the holiday spirit. In the days leading up to Oct. 31, NASA has been sharing photos of stars, galaxies and nebulas that appear as “galactic ghouls,” “cosmic pumpkins,” and “fiery jack-o’-lanterns.”
A starry night sky might not seem like a very *spooky* spectacle, but space can be a creepy place! Monsters lurk in the shadowy depths of the universe, sometimes hidden in plain sight.
