The Catamounts released their 2020 schedule.

The University of Vermont men’s lacrosse head coach Chris Feifs released the program’s 2019 fall schedule and 2020 season schedule Tuesday morning. The slate features three fall events, three preseason scrimmages, and 12 regular season games.

The Vermont Catamounts are the 7th team in our 2020 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the second team from the America East. Vermont finished 8-7 overall in 2019 and 4-2 in America East play. Vermont made it back to the America East Championship game, but lost to No. 4 seed UMBC by a goal.

Curt Styres arrived in Halifax to considerable fanfare on Tuesday. The Halifax Thunderbirds owner and general manager, along with members of the National Lacrosse League team, landed a sleek purple six-person outrigger canoe at Bishop’s Landing at lunchtime, completing a trek that started three-and-a-half months ago and covered 1,870 kilometres. They were greeted by traditional native dancers, singers and drummers as they came ashore.

Emerson lacrosse sophomore fighting for his life after a fight outside of a party.

Family members of Emerson College sophomore Daniel Hollis say he is unlikely to survive after suffering brain injuries during a fight at a party last weekend in Allston. According to a website being updated by Hollis’ family, the Hopedale High School graduate was leaving a party early Saturday morning with his friends when they were confronted by another group ... Hollis, a marketing communications student at Emerson who is on the men’s lacrosse team, underwent initial surgery following the incident.

Coach Tambroni announced Penn State’s four captains for 2020.

Penn State head coach Jeff Tambroni announced four team captains for the 2020 men’s lacrosse season on Tuesday. Seniors Grant Ament, Nick Cardile, Mac O’Keefe, and Tommy Wright will all serve as team captains for the Nittany Lions for the first time in their highly-successful collegiate careers. “Our staff is excited to announce the 2020 Penn State Captains. They are relentless workers, compassionate young men and fierce competitors.”

Hobart’s 1972 team to be inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater Rochester Hall of Fame.

The 1972 Hobart College lacrosse team will be inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater Rochester Hall of Fame on Nov. 1. The celebration will be held at the Burgundy Basin Inn in Pittsford, beginning at 6 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner and the presentation of the inductees.

What’s Up, PhilaJersey?

Amazon ‘moving ahead’ with plans for a grocery store in Philadelphia.

Tech giant Amazon is planning to open a chain of grocery stores in the United States, and wants one of the first stores to be in Philadelphia. The company, according to a report Tuesday in the Wall Street Journal, is moving forward with plans for locations in Philly, Chicago, and Los Angeles for an initial run of grocery stores. Exactly how the stores would differ from the company’s current brick-and-mortar Amazon Go stores – of which there are 16 locations in Seattle, Chicago, and New York – isn’t entirely clear, but there are some early ideas.

When Danielle Brooks, 23, was diagnosed with narcolepsy at age 15, her peers taunted her with the nickname Bobblehead — how she looked nodding off. But since receiving her service dog, Rollo, in 2014, she can hold her head high. “He wakes me up to take my medication,” Brooks, who is in her first year of grad school at Georgia State, tells The Post.
