GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, College Crosse Nation! Thanks for making us a part of your day! Here’s everything you need to know for June 11, 2018.

What You Missed

Paul Rabil set a new MLL points record Saturday night, and the Saskatchewan Rush won another NLL championship.

The Monmouth Hawks have landed to begin their trip in Europe! They began in Berlin:

They’re coming to Europe as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish leave the continent. They spent their trip in Spain.

Winning a championship is great! But begging for coverage isn’t.

This is actually childish, and it irked me when I saw it. I love the sport, box and field, and want it to grow, but whining about wanting some publicity for winning a championship is easily at a #PleaseLikeMySport level. It’s why TSN’s website includes lacrosse in their “more sports” section below “horse racing” and Sportsnet’s website doesn’t even have a lacrosse section. If it’s the nation’s sport of the summer, why is there no coverage of the summer box leagues? Just a thought. Let’s grow the game, but not throw tamper tantrums about it.

There’s blame on both sides. Obviously the Twitter outburst by a team account is one of them, but the NLL not pushing for coverage in Canada, which is where the sport is huge, is a problem. They want to bring in more Americans, but they should also keep their passionate fans up in Canada happy. Plus, a 9:30 start time for folks out east, where stations such as TSN and Sportsnet are located, and airing the game only on Twitter doesn’t help the cause.

As for the sports stations, there was probably some time to either find highlights or mention who won when the game was done. It probably doesn’t help that the game ended at midnight for the overnight highlight shows, but maybe there was some time to grab highlights for Sunday. But that might be where the NLL needs to come in and send stations highlights, since employees probably don’t have the NLL in mind when making rundowns for shows.

But someone did finally mention the NLL championship win!

Finally, this is fantastic:
