COLLEGE CROSSECAST Ep. 90: The Road to the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Final Four

The stage is set on Long Island for two duels with James Madison-North Carolina and Boston College-Maryland. We get you all set with another special women’s edition of the Crossecast.

After an exciting quarterfinal Saturday, the 2018 NCAA D-1 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament turns its attention to Stony Brook and championship weekend. Let us be your guide to the weekend and try to convince you to choose a champion.

I’m joined by Skyler and Jake, as well as Laura Berestecki of BC Interruption, and Harry Holtzclaw of JMU’s The Breeze as they make their cases for their teams (or in Skyler’s case, adopted team) to lift the trophy this Sunday. We also dive into last week’s quarterfinals and the impacts on the teams that are eliminated. We start with Maryland-Navy (3:00), then UNC-Northwestern (5:52), James Madison-Florida (10:30), and wrap up with the classic overtime duel between Boston College and Stony Brook (13:30). We take a moment to take stock in the eliminated teams (23:00) before turning our attention to the Final Four (30:00).

Our crew makes their arguments towards their teams, with Harry for the Dukes (30:50), Skyler choosing the position of the Tar Heels with the Seawolves out (33:06), Laura for her Eagles (38:00), and everybody’s favorite Terps homer in Jake for the defending champs (40:44). We wrap up with our picks (47:00) for what should be a gripping weekend out in Suffolk County.
