College Crosse Top 20 Poll for April 16, 2018

Another wild week brings changes to the Top 10.

NCAA Lacrosse: Men's Championship Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

In what has been an incredibly turbulent and wacky college lacrosse season, we saw some more ups and downs in the games this weekend, and it’s appropriately caused a shake-up in our Top 20 poll, which features a shuffled Top 10 and some new faces in the back end of the Top 20.

The Maryland Terrapins once again remain the #1 team in the College Crosse Top 20. Albany, which was idle this week, jumped into the #2 spot while still grabbing one first place vote from our pool of voters. The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, which occupied the #2 spot last week, fell to #7 after their loss on the road at Penn State. That meant a new team joined the Top 5, which was the Yale Bulldogs as they dropped a staggering 27 goals on Brown. Denver and Duke once again filled out the Top 5, with Duke at #3 and Denver at #4. Our new team in the Top 20 is the Saint Joseph’s Hawks, owners of the nation’s longest winning streak at seven.

Just to review our pollsters for anyone new to our blog, this year we have Jack Goods (The Buffalo News), voting alongside Chris, Ryan, Adam, Safe, and myself. Additionally, we asked new writers Dan & Skyler to join us in voting for the remainder of the regular season, which gives us a total of 8 voters in our Poll.

You can find our official College Crosse Top 20 Poll for this week directly below (Numbers within ()s indicate the number of 1st place votes a team received). Moreover, below the official Top 20 graph you can find our ballots for this week’s Poll.
