Games To Watch

  • 12:00 - Towson vs. Georgetown: This is the first big test for Georgetown to see if the Hoyas are for real or not. Towson may not be as formidable as last year’s squad, but they still are going to give Georgetown a tough game today. This will be the eighth meeting between the two schools (Towson leads 6-1). Georgetown’s last win over Towson came in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. If the Hoyas win today, it’ll go a long way to proving to a lot of people that Georgetown is a threat to making the NCAA Tournament this year.
  • 1:00 - Virginia vs. Princeton: This will be the first meeting between the two since a 6-5 win by UVA in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, and the 25th meeting overall overall (UVA leads 14-10). Tigers vs. Cavaliers used to be one of the biggest games of the year as the two schools met yearly from 1992-2008, including two NCAA championship games that ended in Princeton OT victories in 1994 & 1996. I think I can speak for most lacrosse fans when I say it’s good to have the Cavs vs. Tigers back on the calendar.
  • 3:00 - Penn vs. Duke: The Blue Devils are coming to Philly. The Quakers & Blue Devils have only played each other seven times before today (Duke leads serie 4-3), however, Penn has hosted Duke twice before in 2011 & 2013, and both times came out the victor. Which gives me a lot of hope as I picked Penn to as my upset special of the day.

Game Of The Day

2:00 - Syracuse vs. Army: Syracuse needs a win badly after getting hammered by Albany last week, but Army is no slouch. Indeed, the Black Knights have an imposing defense and aren’t afraid of the Orange, as they beat Syracuse last year 14-13. This game always brings the goods and I think this year will be no different. The Orange rarely ever lose two or more games in a row, Syracuse has only had 10 losing streaks of two or more consecutive losses under Desko, but Army is legit good and will certainly put that record to the test today.
