Game Previews
Marist vs. Monmouth: We’ll have breakfast and lacrosse today with the very early 10 am start time in Poughkeepsie. Marist is in their fourth straight MAAC title game and will look to go to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015, when they defeated Bryant in the Play-In game.
It’s the first ever appearance for Monmouth, who is looking for their first title in their four years of existence. Their stingy defense is a top ten unit, led by defenseman and La Salle College High School product Andrew Grajewski and goaltender and La Salle College High School product Nick Hreshko. When these two teams met back in April, the Hawks defeated the Red Foxes, 7-2.
Brown vs. Yale: The Ivy League Championship will be decided by one of the better rivalries in the conference in recent years. It’s funny how Brown’s two really good teams fell in the Ivy League semifinals the past two seasons, let without most of their team from a year ago, they’re able to make the conference title game. Bruno defeated Princeton in the semis behind a career day from La Salle College High School product Stephen Hudak with five goals and an assist, along with four goals and two assists from Dylan Molloy. Molloy can become the program’s all-time leader in points today with a point, passing Darren Lowe at 316. Molloy currently has 69 points this season (nice). He’s also five career goals away from 200.
Meanwhile, Yale defeated Penn in four overtimes on Friday, and it will be interesting to see how the Bulldogs come out and if they show any signs of fatigue. The Bulldogs have won four of the last five Ivy League championships, including the past two. A big battle will be at the face-off X between Conor Mackie for Yale and Brown’s Ted Ottens.
Duke vs. Boston University: This is the third and final ACC-Patriot League game of the weekend, with the other two (Syracuse-Colgate and Notre Dame-Army West Point) being interesting games. However, this game won’t be broadcast or streamed online, as this game will be played at Bethpage High School on Long Island. Duke should be playing with a full squad, unlike the Fighting Irish who didn’t have Ryder Garnsey and Sergio Perkovic against the Black Knights. The Terriers can play spoilers to Duke’s NCAA Tournament placement (or even chances of making The Big BBQ) with a win over the Blue Devils.

DON’T WRITE OFF RUTGERS JUST YET!
So Rutgers was in good shape Thursday night before Denver lost. Committee should still look hard at this team. They can ball.
