Championship Week continues with 4 tasty games today, as the Ivy League and the MAAC play their semifinal games this afternoon. The title games for both conferences will be on Sunday. All four games should be very interesting, especially in the Ivy League, as all four teams playing today have had rollercoaster seasons this year. Both the MAAC & the Ivy League will probably be one-bid conferences, so I expect some very tough & competitive games today, as it is win or go home time for everyone involved.
Below is today’s Big Board. Clicking on the team name will take you to that team’s homepage. Clicking on the Stream cell will take you to the broadcast of that game, while the Live Stats cell will take you to the live stats of that game. The Ivy games are on ESPNU today, while the two MAAC games are streaming on MAAC TV. I believe the MAAC games should be free. Anyway, let’s go to the Big Board.!!

Conference Semifinal Previews.
Ivy: Two very good games today. I think the Brown vs. Princeton game might be the best game today as both teams have very good offenses and can get up and down the field. Princeton blew out Brown in their earlier match on April 1st by a score of 21-11, but Princeton has gone 3-2 since that game, including losses to 7-7 Lehigh and 5-8 Cornell. Brown on the other hand has gone 5-1 since that game. Indeed, Brown is a much-improved team from earlier in the year. Mike Daly’s lads went from 1-3 to start the season, to 8-2 in their last ten games.
Yale vs. Penn should be a fun game. Yale has had a rollercoaster of a season in 2017. They opened up the year 1-3, then went on to win 7 straight games, but have dropped their last two games. The 7-5 Quakers have also had a very rocky season. Since their opening the year 2-0, Penn has gone 5-5 the rest of the season, however, they are riding a 3-game win streak at the moment. Yale won the previous match-up by a score of 14-12, but #1 seeds haven’t done too well in the Ivy League Tournament the last few years. The Elis better snap out of their two-game funk or they will be watching the title game from the sidelines on Sunday.
MAAC: The Monmouth Hawks are kind of hot right now. Monmouth enters the game on a 9-game win streak and beat Detroit Mercy 11-8 in their last match-up on April 15th. Nevertheless, Monmouth better not sleep on Detroit Mercy, as the Titans have a pretty decent record in the MAAC Championship game, having won it in 2013 and making it to the title game in 2011.
Marist has made the last three MAAC Tournament title games, and won it in 2015. After starting the year 4-4, the Red Foxes have won 5 out of their last 6 games, and enter the game on a 4-game win streak. Despite coming into this game with a 6-8 record, Canisius is actually the higher seed today as they have an identical 4-2 conference record as Marist, but beat the Red Foxes 17-6 back on March 18th.
