Games To Watch

North Carolina @ Notre Dame: The winner is the number three seed in the ACC Tournament and will play Duke on Friday. The loser is the fourth seed and gets Syracuse. North Carolina needs a win to stay above .500 and be eligible for the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Notre Dame has been off for over a week and a half. This game is usually a battle every year, and it’s for the ACC regular season championship. This year is slightly different.

Duke @ Marquette: It’s Marquette’s HEADStrong game, and will be sporting these uniforms:

Duke is one of the hottest teams in the nation, and have all the momentum going into the ACC Tournament on Friday. Justin Guterding has to be considered for the Tewaaraton, while Jack Brucker is a deadly finisher.

Richmond @ Air Force: Two of the top three SoCon teams face off against each other in Colorado, which could favor the Falcons with the mile high air. The Falcons aren’t the same team as they were a year ago when they entered the SoCon, and recently lost their first ever regular season SoCon game to Furman. Richmond is a ranked team, but could have been considered for an at-large spot had they defeated either Duke or Virginia, or even both teams.

Maryland @ Ohio State: My pick for game of the day, as the top two Big Ten teams square off in the Horseshoe. The Terps have looked “awesome, fantastic” with three straight wins against Penn State, Albany, and Rutgers, and six days rest should help them a ton. How will Austin Henningsen do against Buckeye’s FOGO Jake Withers? The winner will have an inside track in getting the top spot in the Big Ten Tournament.

Yale @ Albany: A huge nonconference showdown for both teams, as it’s a last-minute effort to get a solid nonconference win in case they need an at-large birth. Yale has been streaking since losing three straight earlier in the season, while Albany has played every team well, but couldn’t earn wins over Syracuse or Maryland. A Yale win would be their biggest win of the season. How will the Bulldog defense play against Connor Fields?
