LOTS of movement this week!

Nothing like having a whole bunch of top 10 teams lose to really get the blood flowing on a Monday. We saw Maryland, Hopkins, Denver, Penn, and UVA all lose this weekend, which means that the top 20 had a big shakeup.

As usual, we compile all the major polls (Links for Week 4 polls: Inside Lacrosse, Lacrosse Magazine, and USILA Coaches Poll), plus Jason and my media poll top 20, into one table. You can find the College Crosse Top 20 for Week 4 here. Shout out to Doc for his great Week 4 Media Poll post which you can find here. You can find our College Crosse Week 4 Top 20 post here.

Let’s go to this week's Aggregation Big Board

Comments.

  1. All Hail Notre Dame: We have a new unanimous number one this week. Shout out to the Irish for their gutsy 1 point win over Maryland this weekend. Notre Dame handed the Terps their first regular season loss since March 6, 2016 (also against Notre Dame). If Maryland play as well the rest of this season as they did last year, this win by Notre Dame could end up being extremely valuable once we get to Selection Sunday.
  2. Nittany Lions On The Prowl: Penn State is playing very well right now. PSU’s offense is 2nd in the nation and only .17 goals/game behind Brown and Freshman Mac O'Keefe leads the country with 5 goals/game. One can quibble with the strength of PSU’s schedule so far this season, but Penn State’s winning, and that’s all that matters right now.
  3. #7 Army:

Hey ... this is America. You can do and say whatever you want. Now, having said that, Lacrosse Magazine putting 4-1 Army at #7 is a bit of a hot take. The Black Knights do have a nice win over a Ben Williams-less Syracuse squad, so there is some legitimacy for putting Army in the top 10. However, outside of Syracuse, the combined record of their other opponents is 6-11 and that’s if you include 5-0 Rutgers. But again, this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, so you do you, Lacrosse Magazine! (Ed. Note: Y’all putting Hofstra at 15 also caught my eye.)

4. Richmond Got Dropped: Rough weekend for the Spiders. I was close to putting them at number 20 on my poll but ended up giving the edge to Duke. Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse Magazine also dropped Richmond from their top 20. I still believe in Richmond, but their win over Marquette gets less and less impressive as the weeks go by, which I believe is partly to blame for the Spiders dropping out of the top 20 this week.

5. #FreeBu: The Boston Terriers are now on every poll on the Big Board. I feel as if we all had a hand in making this possible.
