Game Preview.

Johns Hopkins vs. Rutgers: The Blue Jays lead the all-time series 31-6, but RU has won the last two games after sweeping Hopkins in the regular season and Big Ten Tournament last season. Rutgers opened the season with eight straight victories for the first time since 1955 but their big loss to Delaware last weekend was a setback. They’ll be hungry to get back on a winning streak today.

Johns Hopkins have been all over the place this year. After starting out the season 4-0, Hop lost three in a row, and were close to extending that losing streak to 4, if it weren’t for a stunning comeback versus Virginia last weekend. While UVA has their problems there’s no denying the fact that last week’s win over the Cavs was big for Hopkins. Aside from stopping their losing streaking, the Jays demonstrated they weren’t afraid to run with the Cavs, which will be important today as Rutgers likes to play a similar frenetic pace.

Rutgers has eight different players with 10 or more points this season. Freshman Kieran Mullins, leads the team 35 points (23 Gs & 12 As). Jules Heningburg is second with 30 (16 Gs & 14 As), while Connor Murphy is third with 22 poins (13 Gs & 9 As). Hop’s leading scorer is Shack Stanwick who has 24 points (11 Gs & 13 As). After a huge effort against UVA, Hop’s Kyle Marr moved to second on the team in points (21) and first on the squad in goals (14). John Crawley, Joel Tinney, & Wilkins Dismuke, are all tied for 2nd on the team in goals with 12.
