Reverse Survivor: Later Cornell!

We’re down to three teams!

CMT Story Behind The Songs LIV + Weekend At Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island - Day 3 Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Sandals Royal Bahamian

One team is off the Reverse Survivor island this week, as Cornell crushed Colgate, 15-6. The Big Red almost had another win, but fell to Penn by a goal.

The team that is on to better things:

  • Cornell (defeated Colgate)

Three teams remain, and I’m not so sure who will win next!

Reverse Survivor 2017 #6

Team Record Next Opponent Date Opponent After That Date
Team Record Next Opponent Date Opponent After That Date
Jacksonville 0-9 @ VMI 4/8 @ Mercer 4/15
NJIT 0-10 vs. Monmouth 4/8 @ Lafayette 4/11
Siena 0-10 vs. Manhattan 4/8 @ Canisius 4/15

Team Outlooks

Let’s begin with Jacksonville. I was right that they would lose to Air Force, but they made it close, losing in OT to the Falcons. This week, they have Furman, who is coming off a one-goal win over Mercer last week. If the Dolphins play like they did this past weekend, they have a good chance to win. I don’t think they do. Next up is VMI on April 8. VMI defeated NJIT earlier this season, and I think Jacksonville could likely get their first win then.

NJIT lost to Fairfield and Wagner last week, and got blown out by both teams. They don’t have a game this upcoming week, so they’ll clinch a spot in Reverse Survivor for next week. In two weeks, they’ll play Monmouth, which I think is a loss, and Lafayette, which could be a possible win. For now, you gotta practice and stay sharp if you want to get off the island.

Finally, we have Siena. They lost to Monmouth after coming out of the gates hot with a 4-0 start. They scored five more goals after that and gave up 17, so that’s bad. This week, the Saints host Detroit Mercy, who took care of Quinnipiac yesterday. They have a solid goaltender in Jason Weber in cage, and that might give the Saints another loss. They host Manhattan next weekend, which could finally be the team’s first win of the season.

Time is ticking on these three teams to win a game with just about a month left in the season.

*NOTE: First year program Cleveland State and Hampton aren't eligible for Reverse Survivor but IT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE! Both teams have recorded wins this year, even though they’re not against Division I teams.
