College Crosse Prospectus: It Is New Year’s My Dudes

All the lax news and then some for January 1, 2017 (!).

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, College Crosse Nation!! Happy New Year!! Thanks for making us a part of your day to start 2017. Let’s get to those links, which aren’t really lacrosse filled because it was New Year’s Eve last night, duh.

WHAT YOU MISSED

What are some CAA games to keep an eye out for?

A Florida county is using lacrosse to boost their tourism.

LACROSSE THE NATION

The creativity is strong with this one.

Nicholas from Team IMPACT got hooked up with some sweet gifts by Brown lacrosse!

This was probably you and your friends last night.

That feeling when Betty White made it to 2017.

Best moment of 2016 by far.

High goals for Michigan.

SIMBA CAM CUTENESS!!!

Peter Lasagna has some New Year’s wishes for 2017.

May future seasons see Dom Starsia continue to positively impact lives and his sport. Here’s hoping the affection and respect tour that the timing of Virginia’s decision denied be played out on fields, classrooms for years to come. I bet the Hampton University Pirates would enjoy a guest lecture from him. Dom will continue to impart the fire that carried this Brown football recruit from Valley Stream to every Hall of Fame in the game.

Santa wishes Mike Daly a fully healed Dylan Molloy, a motivated group of Brown Staters eager to show last year’s success was not a vegan miracle. Has any coach won it all in DIII and DI?

Good cheer to Daly’s successor in Jumboland, Casey D’Annolfo. You are ready to carry your alma mater’s mission forward and make it your own. You will fill those large loafers well. Know that your NESCAC peers have your back — except when they don’t.

A yuletide toast to John Galloway as he surfs through his first campaign in Jacksonville. The Dolphins' smart, charismatic staff will shake things up fast. And will beat all DI coaches in a 2-on-2 contest in any game.

Packers running back/wide receiver Ty Montgomery PLAYED LACROSSE!

She also gave him plenty of reading material. She found books on the greatest NFL running backs and passed them along. She was especially fond of Jim Brown, "because Ty played lacrosse and Jim Brown played lacrosse [at] a predominantly white school and he’s African-American, so there were a lot of similarities," and of Walter Payton, "because I went to Jackson State for my undergrad and that’s where 'Sweetness' went."

"I had people and videos for him to watch," she said. "'This is what you do. These are the best of the best, and you see how they’re doing it.'"

PHILLY JAWNS

The Mummers are today!

The Eagles also play the Cowboys in their regular season finale. The game literally means nothing.

WORLD NEWS

William Christopher, best known as Father Mulcahy on M*A*S*H, was the last casualty of 2016.

The best and worst of TV in 2016.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

Mariah Carey rang in 2017 in the worst way possible!
