Inside Lacrosse released the intitial media poll today and Duke, the 2013 national champion, led the way with 15 of 19 first-place votes. Syracuse, the national runner-up last season, tucked in behind the Blue Devils with four first-place votes and 346 total points. Here's the full poll:
Also receiving votes: Towson (33); Bryant (8); Drexel (7); Stony Brook (4); Harvard (3); Massachusetts (2); Georgetown (1)
The conference breakdown was as follows: ACC (six); Ivy League (four); Patriot League, Big East (three); CAA, ECAC, America East, and Independent (one).
