Quint interviews a bear that is an algebra genius!* (*That's probably a lie.)
Big injury update from the folks at Inside Lacrosse. Click the link to see the full list -- and it's ridiculous with some of the names -- but the big ticket items are that Massachusetts' Will Manny is on track in his recovery, Princeton's Tucker Shanley is out for the rest of this season (joining Forest Sonnenfeldt), and Denver's Chase Carraro is still out.
Peter Baum and Marcus Holman take time away from doing whatever current students do (I'm assuming playing MarioKart on N64 isn't one of those things) to talk with Quint. Michigan head coach John Paul, Holy Cross head coach Jim Morrissey, and Inside Lacrosse's Terry Foy also join the fun.
From the Rumble Seat takes a look at lacrosse on campus, and its viability at the D-I level.
The Big East name will now belong to the Catholic 7, and the Big East schools not in the Big East Catholic 7 will have to be searching for a new name. This move could have Notre Dame joining the ACC a year early, or if the ACC isn't available they have been offered a spot potentially in the 7 Big Catholic East for a season. None of this make sense, but there you have. East Catholic 7 Biggies.
Hopkins is rotating suspensions due to an unspecified violation of team rules. Rob Enright and Wells Stanwick are released from time served on the naughty chair for the Princeton game on Friday. Also, Rob Guida may not play for the Jays tomorrow evening because he's injured. Also, Forest Sonnefeldt is missing all of 2013 due to an injury. Also, Chris LaPierre and Matt Poillon are day-to-day. ALSO, IT'S THE FOURTH WEEK OF THE DAMN SEASON WHY IS THIS ALL HAPPENING NOW?
The man with the windsor knot that you wish you could tie talks with Cornell's Rob Pannell (Pannell scores six goals on the podcast, by the way), Notre Dame's Kevin Corrigan (he did not slow the pace of the podcast), Jesse Bernhardt (Maryland's long-pole nightmare), Paul Carcaterra (nobody has better hair on Earth), and Inside Lacrosse's Terry Foy (the hardest working man in lacrosse). Give a listen.
Great article from the Baltimore Sun yesterday talking about the enormous growth the women's game is seeing at the collegiate level, and how realignment is likely to continue this trend.
From Casey Vock at Inside Lacrosse: "Syracuse sophomore Mike Daniello is reportedly recovering from serious injuries sustained in an altercation and is likely to miss the upcoming season, sources say."
