Maryland's probably going to the Big Ten. But why?
For lacrosse, Maryland is a big enough power to survive on its own in lacrosse, if needs be - see Hopkins - until Minnesota or Michigan State joins the civilized folk and starts a varsity lax program and gets the Big Ten to sponsor the sport.

Maryland, Rutgers Moves Would Shake Up Lacrosse
The University of Maryland is in negotiations to join the Big Ten Conference, and Rutgers may follow suit, according to ESPN. The moves, which are driven mainly by football considerations, could be announced soon and would significantly impact the men’s and women’s lacrosse landscape, just like a flurry of other moves already have.

ESPN Report: Maryland Board Approves Move to Big Ten
ESPN and multiple national news outlets have reported that Maryland's Board of Regents approved a move to the Big Ten, paving the way for big changes in lacrosse. Rutgers was expected to follow suit and leave for the Big Ten.

Recruit Listings for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 Academic Years
The early signing period this fall for the National Letter of Intent (NLI) runs from November 14 through November 21. The NLI applies only to Division I and II schools that offer athletically-related aid, and some of those institutions do not.
