2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Championship Open Thread: Maryland at (7) Virginia

via images.lax.com

It's Memorial Monday, people.  Look alive out there.

This is it, the 2011 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse championship.  With around 1,000 games in the books, the season comes down to Virginia and Maryland throwing hands to decide who gets a fancy gold trophy at the end of the afternoon.

The Cavaliers are chasing down their fifth overall title, a third in under a decade.  Maryland is looking its third overall championship, its first since just about forever.

The familiarity between these two teams aside -- it's the second meeting of the year between the two ACC clubs -- the game has a real feel of anticipation to it: Virginia and its high octane offense taking it against Maryland's offensive and defensive pragmatism.  This should be a hell of a final regardless of how you cut it.

Folks from the site will be around to shoot the breeze and provide updates.  Your comments are valuable as well, so leave all of those beautiful bon mots in the handy dandy commenting device.
